Friends

everything seems a little bit brighter – not just the sky in this gorgeous weather!

Doodles sang this to me (in the tune of the Spice girls “spice up your life”) “geriatrics of the world! eat your applesauce! if you can’t find your dentures use your walking stick! if you can’t get out of bed! hi cee ya don’t die!”

Shawny B gave me words to live by “It’s too hard to describe, but I’m confident in it. And that’s more than words can say.”

RIT made it to the Frozen 4 for Division 1 hockey and we are all a little bit excited. My super super boss (general manager – alumnus of RIT & CIAS like me!) was wearing RIT gear yesterday and kept randomly walking by me saying”Go Tigers!” & high fiving. Though we lost last night I’m still rocking the Orange colors to show my support :)

I have met a gaggle of new ladies who are gems and so much fun! If I was clever enough I’d come up with a name for us as a whole (the pink ladies, the Fab 5ish, the SMH crew)…except I’m not so I won’t. But they are so much fun and i love that we can go and dance, drink and cause trouble together :)

I think I’m going to COP that style from Hana & start this 30/30 dealio. 30 poems, in 30 days. Christ they will be super bad but it will be a fun mental exercise. Her poems are amazing thus far and totally inspiring – i hope she reads them out loud at one of the femme events or at any even in nyc that i can see soon cause i prefer to listen rather than read (just like i prefer to be driven as opposed to drive).

Tunes: Beth Ditto said “listen up” so you’d better!

#1: “my fingertips are holding on to the cracks in our foundation” – kate nash – I am totally feeling this chick’s album Built by Bricks, it’s lovely and sad and she’s a great lyricist. songs to listen to are: happy merry, foundations, dickhead, navi taxi, the nicest…. All of them are great :)
#2: “I am not a robot” – marina & the diamonds – one girl but a whole great list of tunes from her crazy vocals
#3: Paris is burning / My Delirium – Ladyhawke – just started listening & I’m liking it thus far esp since I’m assuming that she is referring to the favored beer Delirium Tremens and not the illness :)
#4: Another Day – Dragonette – it’s all about only getting a person’s voice mail which pretty much me / my mom. people need to send pigeons to find us most times. true story: my mother’s voice mail says “Hi, this is Anne. I’m either on the other line, working, shopping, or something! Leave me a message and i’ll get back to you…soon” — as in she’s not sure you are more important than that list of things she just mentioned she may or may not be doing.
#5: Ghosts – Laura Marling – dainty sweet voice that feels like sweet tea in summer
#6: la rouxe – esp b/c i want shawny b to have her hair :)
#7: ting tings – cause who doesn’t love a 2-person jam band?
#8: plenty of girl talk
#9: jack johnson / dave matthews / sunny weather fellas
#10: rollerskate – Matias Aguayo – great jam but it makes me miss my ricky! I’m so happy to report his retirement from Funemployment! Congrats on the new jobber Ricky!!

Check out my Duds!

i can’t wait drop all my $ on summer wardrobe! This is about 3k worth of goodness!! Obvi I’ll have to scale back but in a perfect world it would ALL BE MINE!

wicked cute clothes! i am listening to the mix right now whilst overlooking Alcatraz and the Bay… it’s been nothing but gorgeous weather all week, and a bit surreal. i went to the farmers market this morning and bought 8 quail eggs for a $1, more as a curiousity, like “these were one dollar!!!” I think I’m going to bring them to the dinner party I’m going to later, should I hard-boil them? This Kate Nash is great. i love this post and you! xox!!
